1. Product and service

TranslateWindow is a macOS translation tool with selection translation, clipboard translation, screenshot OCR, input translation, file translation, live-window translation, translation scenes, history, favorites, a local model, cloud translation-service connections, and Pro licensing.

The website and app currently focus on macOS. A Windows version is coming soon, but it is not a delivery commitment before release.

2. Requirements

• You must have the legal capacity to enter and perform these Terms, or have permission from a parent or guardian.
• You are responsible for having a compatible Mac, operating system, network connection, and required macOS permissions.
• Screenshot OCR, the live window, and selection translation may rely on Screen Recording, Accessibility, Clipboard, or file permissions. If you deny permissions, related features may not work.
• You are responsible for ensuring that content you translate, recognize, process, or send to third-party services is lawful and that you have the rights needed to use it.

3. Free features, Pro, and licenses

• TranslateWindow may provide free features, trial features, Pro features, or future paid capabilities. The available scope is based on the app and checkout page.
• After upgrading to Pro, you receive a license key. The license key activates Pro; it is not an account, security, stored-value card, or resale asset.
• Unless the checkout page or support communication says otherwise, a personal license is for your own use and may be activated on up to 2 devices. If you hit the limit, contact us for unlinking or migration help.
• The license key, device ID, and license status are stored in your local Keychain. The license service checks status periodically. When offline, Pro features may keep working for a grace period after the last successful check.
• Keep your license key safe. You are responsible for loss caused by publishing, transferring, sharing, or leaking it.

4. Purchase, refunds, and receipts

• Purchases are handled through Stripe Checkout. Price, currency, tax, promotion codes, and payment methods are shown on the checkout page.
• TranslateWindow includes a 7-day no-questions-asked refund window. If the product is not a fit, email us within 7 days of purchase to request a refund.
• Refunds may require purchase email, order information, partial license key, or other information needed to verify the purchase.
• We may reject a refund, disable a license, or restrict future purchases if there is clear abuse, fraud, license resale, malicious refund behavior, or violation of these Terms.
• For invoices, receipts, or proof of payment, use the receipt provided by Stripe first. You can email us for special requests.

5. Translation content and results

• Translation, OCR, post-processing, and model output may contain errors, omissions, tone issues, or incomplete context. You are responsible for reviewing whether results are suitable for formal documents, contracts, medical, financial, legal, academic, or other important uses.
• TranslateWindow does not promise that translation results are fully accurate, complete, or fit for a particular purpose. It does not replace human review, professional translation, or professional advice.
• You are responsible for content you process, store, export, copy, share, or submit to third-party services through TranslateWindow.

6. Third-party services and API keys

• You may choose the local model, official configured services, third-party cloud services, or your own model-service API key. Speed, quality, availability, pricing, and privacy rules may differ by service.
• When you use your own API key, you must follow the chosen service's terms, billing rules, content policy, and privacy policy. You are responsible for related costs.
• Interruptions, rate limits, price changes, model changes, policy changes, or incorrect output from third-party services are not a breach by TranslateWindow.
• TranslateWindow does not display saved API keys in plain text in the app. Credentials should be stored in local Keychain.

7. Prohibited conduct

• Do not crack, bypass, forge, share, resell, or abuse license keys, device activation, or paid limits.
• Do not reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, modify, resell, rent, host, or copy TranslateWindow for competitive use, except where applicable law expressly allows it.
• Do not use TranslateWindow to process, spread, or generate illegal, infringing, fraudulent, harassing, malware, spam, or rights-violating content.
• Do not attack, scan, stress test, bypass, or interfere with the website, license service, download service, payment flow, or third-party services.

8. Updates, changes, and availability

We may release updates, fixes, feature changes, interface changes, or compatibility updates. Some features may be unavailable because of system permissions, OS version, third-party services, model resources, network conditions, or license status.

We try to keep downloads, licensing, and core features stable, but we do not promise uninterrupted, error-free service or compatibility with every device and system version.

9. Intellectual property

The TranslateWindow name, icon, interface, code, design, copy, website, and related materials belong to Blackboxes AI or their respective rights holders. Without permission, you may not copy, modify, publish, or commercially redistribute them.

You keep rights to the content you input, recognize, translate, export, or process. TranslateWindow does not take ownership of your content because you use the product.

10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, TranslateWindow is provided as is. We are not responsible beyond legal requirements for translation results, third-party services, model output, business loss, data loss, lost profits, indirect damages, or consequences from relying on translations.

If applicable law does not allow a full exclusion of some liability, the limitations in these Terms apply to the maximum extent permitted.

11. Termination

You may stop using and uninstall TranslateWindow at any time. If you violate these Terms, abuse licensing, attack services, or harm others' rights, we may suspend or terminate part or all of the service and reserve the right to pursue remedies.

12. Disputes and contact

If an issue arises from these Terms or TranslateWindow, both sides should first try to resolve it through friendly communication. Mandatory consumer-protection, refund, data-protection, or dispute-resolution rules apply where required by law.
